Kaiser Permanente has advanced building and development standards involving
modular design and national agreements with specific vendors to deliver continuity
between projects across the country.  Target costs were established early and then
working across all stakeholders laid the ground work to drive cost down with a
combination of value engineering and enhanced local subcontractor interest.

​

Early project estimates were enhanced by the list of established building systems and components that were required across the Kaiser Permanente MOB models.  Having a set of known information points early in design, lent the team more capacity to focus on the site specific design challenges and work as a team to provide cost effective and efficient solutions.

​

Differentiating design features unique to Kaiser were the requirements to use a modular steel erection system by ConXTech and a modular building facade by Digital Building Components.  By utilizing modular building components the project schedule was optimized and allayed potential issues that can stem from structure and envelope installation.
